AKRON, Ohio - Akron detectives are investigating the burglary of a safe containing $40,000.
A 32-year-old resident told police his safe was cut out of the wall in his Moon Drive apartment.
The victim reported he left an acquaintance in his apartment. When he returned, he said the woman, the safe and the money were gone.
According to Akron police, the man told them the stolen money came from student loans.

Parents and students of St. Joseph School in Canton are organizing a peaceful vigil for 6 p.m. Wednesday to protest a plan to shut down the school in June of 2014.
