AKRON, Ohio - Akron firefighters responded to a structure fire at 317 Silver Street at the intersection of Silver and Hickory Street Wednesday morning.
Captain Michael Scott from the Akron Fire Department said the roof collapsed and the building is a total loss.
The cause of the blaze is not determined.
Scott said the building is owned by a man who runs a company called Western Machinery Movers.
There was scrap metal inside the warehouse. Also, propane tanks were inside and that caused a couple of explosions.
Due to the explosions, firefighters took a defensive approach and fought the fire using the aerial ladder on their trucks.
The fire was under control by 10 a.m.
Nobody was hurt.
Viewers sent NewsChannel5 photos and videos of the fire. A video posted to Facebook by Robert Ake showed two explosions at the scene.
