AKRON, Ohio - The Akron Marathon Health & Fitness Expo is expected to draw about 20,000 people to the John S. Knight Center today in Akron.
Runners will pick up their shirts, race numbers, and other packet items during the expo which lasts from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The event also features dozens of booths offering the latest in running merchandise and apparel.
Legendary marathoner Bill Rodgers will make a presentation at 4 p.m.
The Akron Marathon, presented by Time Warner Cable, starts at 7 a.m. on Saturday with the full marathon, half marathon and 5-person relay.
15,000 runners are expected to turn out, which would be a record for the marathon celebrating its 10th year.
