NORTH CANTON, Ohio - For the third year in a row, Akron-Canton Airport has set a new record for passengers flying out of CAK.

To show their appreciation, staff handed out luggage tags and candy canes to their customers.

Kristie VanAuken, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, said they expect about a 10 percent increase in passengers this holiday season.

With that in mind and the possibility of snow in the forecast, VanAuken had a few tips for travelers over the holidays.

First, check the airport's website . There is real-time arrival and departure information details available. You may also want to contact the airline before leaving for the airport, to make sure there are no delays.

VanAuken said if your flight departs before 10 a.m., they recommend arriving 90 minutes prior to you flight time.

"Over the holiday people are traveling with gift, traveling maybe with the whole family, so it tends to slow things down a little bit."
