3rd Avenue Bridge in Akron to close for months for replacement

AKRON, Ohio - The 3rd Avenue Bridge in Akron will be closed for the nearly the rest of the year starting Monday.

The city of Akron said this is the bridge over the Little Cuyahoga River between Kelly Avenue and Innovation Way.

Crews will work to replace the bridge, closing it to all traffic.

Drivers can get around the bridge using Kelly Avenue, Goodyear Boulevard, Market Street and Innovation Way.

The project is expected to be finished by the end of 2012.
