AKRON, Ohio - A popular northeast Ohio burger joint just got some national attention Tuesday.
The afternoon airing of ABC's "The Chew" on NewsChannel5 featured the old fashioned classic style drive-in restaurant "Swensons."
Cleveland Chef Michael Symon told viewers of the show that Swensons burgers were a little piece of his childhood.
"The Chew" showed video of the restaurant's original location on South Hawkins in Akron.
Swensons was voted Akron's best burger for the past 10 years and has several locations in the Akron/Canton area.
"To have Michael Symon make comments about Swensons being a hidden secret is just great," said Dave Lillich, who is the corporate manager.
"This is easily the best fast food hamburger in the country," said Sam Clements who has been coming to Swensons for decades.
