NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio - North Ridgeville High School received state recognition for its work last year.

The Ohio Lottery Partners in Education program named North Ridgeville High as Ohio’s School of the Year for the 2009-2010 school year.

The Ohio Lottery held a School of the Year award presentation to the high school on Monday. The commission gave the school a trophy and prizes.

"It means everything... I mean it's our school.. it's big, it's great, it's huge yea exactly like it means everything to us," student Courtney Basch said.

North Ridgeville High submitted 39 nominations of both Academic All-Stars and Teachers of the Month throughout the previous school year, which made the school eligible for the drawing.
