Mentor dentist buys back Halloween candy for U.S. troops

MENTOR, Ohio - One dentist in Mentor hopes this offer is a win-win.
Many dentists are taking part in a candy buy-back program. On Wednesday, Dr. Stephen T. Carosello will accept candy, and give children money in return.
The dentist’s office will buy your Halloween candy for $1 per pound, up to $5 per family. The candy will then be donated to U.S. troops fighting overseas, as a thank you for their service.
Dentists also hope the offer will help spare some children tooth cavities.
Families can bring bags of donated Halloween candy to the office of Stephen T. Carosello, 9500 Mentor Ave., Suite 280, in Mentor, from 9: a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
