It appears obesity levels in the US have leveled off, according to new data released Tuesday.
The numbers show about one in every three adults in the US and nearly one in every five children and teens are obese.
But the figures show that the percentage of obese men crept up in 2010.
The research team compiled the data covering 2009 to 2010 using the height and weight of nearly 6,000 men and women and calculated their Body Mass Index.
African-Americans and Mexican-Americans had higher rates of obesity than white Americans.
Adults are considered obese if they are about 30 pounds over a healthy weight.
