Could chicken soup really help you fight a cold? According to the latest scientific study, the answer is yes.
According to the UK Daily Mail , research in the American Journal of Therapeutics showed that a compound found in chicken soup -- called carnosine -- helped the body's immune system fight the early stages of flu.
But researchers say you'd have to have a fairly constant supply. The researchers also found many commercial soups had a similar effect.
