LORAIN, Ohio - This was a day not one person who knew Officer James Kerstetter ever imagined they'd have to go through.

Saying goodbye to the man many say was a hero wasn't easy.

Flags were flying. Banners offering up love to the family were being held honoring "Officer Jim" as he was affectionately called.

Emotions were hard to hold in as many wiped away their tears.

Police departments from as far away as Toronto, Canada were at the service for this fallen veteran officer.

Most people say they will use their faith to help ease the pain they are feeling. Faith, they say, will also help them support Officer Kerstetter's family and his fellow officers.
