Strongsville Teachers’ Union president files police report claiming she was followed home

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio - Tracy Linscott, the president of the Strongsville Teachers’ Union, filed a police report Monday claiming she was followed home.

Linscott said she had been attending bargaining sessions at a federal mediator’s office in the 6100 block of Oaktree Blvd. when the incident happened.

On March 6, she told police an older man tried to follow her home from the parking lot after the meeting was over. With the help of a colleague, Linscott said she was able to lose him before getting to her house.

Then, on March 11, Linscott reported the same truck was seen in the parking lot of the federal mediator’s office, prompting her to call police.

The driver’s truck is described as a 1992 Ford with Ohio plates.

Linscott is concerned with her involvement in the strike and media attention that the person will know where she is and try to follow her home again.

Linscott has requested special attention at her home.

Meanwhile other key developments include, a Facebook page that reads "support the students" encourages parents and Strongsville taxpayers to attend a counter strike rally Friday from 3 to 7 pm at the clock tower.

The message refers to some picketing teachers as "bullies" and reads "come support the students and tell these teachers we are done with their propaganda, scare tactics, intimidation and abhorrent behavior.

They need to end the strike and get back to work".

Meanwhile we asked the Ohio Board of Education if any complaints have been filed against striking teachers based on picket line behavior.

The state board of Education replied

"We cannot confirm or deny that we received a referral, complaint, or opened an investigation".

Meanwhile some striking teachers filed police reports saying their cars were egged last week and a picketing teacher had a car tire slashed Monday.

Last week students told us teachers took books, posters even tissues from the classrooms before going on strike.

So this Thursday March 14. a group of parents is getting together to make decorations to brighten classroom settings.
