WASHINGTON - The student from North Royalton who won last year’s Scripps National Spelling Bee joined with 2011’s winner in the nation’s capital Thursday.
Anamika Veeramani and Sukanya Roy from Pennsylvania met with President Barack Obama and senators from their respective states. Veeramani spent time with Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio).
Veeramani, who attened Incarnate Word Academy in Parma Heights, won in 2010 by correctly spelling "stromuhr.”
Roy correctly spelled “cymotrichous” last Thursday.
