It's back to school time in some parts of the country. Kids everywhere are carrying backpacks to class.
But beware, backpacks can cause your child back pain.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, that condition is becoming more common.
The CPSC said backpack injuries in children ages 5 to 18 increased more than 6 percent between 2010 and 2011.
A doctor at Children's Health Care of Atlanta said parents can take some steps to minimize risk. He said backpacks should weigh less than 15 percent of the child's body weight. And stay away from bags with narrow straps that can dig into muscles.
He also said if your kid's school allows it, you might want to buy a rolling book bag instead
