CINCINNATI - An Ohio mother has been indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury for allegedly forcing her 2-year-old daughter to smoke marijuana.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters released cell phone video on Wednesday that shows the daughter of 21-year-old Jessica Gamble smoking marijuana.
Investigators said Gamble provided her daughter with the marijuana on June 12 at their residence on Edgemont Terrace.
In the video you can hear Gamble giving instructions to her daughter.
Deters said Gamble erased the video from her phone but not before she sent to an unnamed person who turned it over to Jobs and Family Services.
“It is unbelievable to watch on video a mother teaching her 2-year-old child how to smoke a joint. There are just some people who should never have children,” said Deters.
The prosecutor said it appears this was not the first time the child smoked marijuana.
Gamble was arrested on Friday, Sept. 10. She is charged with corrupting another with drugs, child endangering and tampering with evidence. She faces up to five years in prison on the child endangering and tampering with evidence charges and 18 months on the corrupting another with drugs charge.
Jobs and Family Services removed the child from the care of Gamble and placed her with a relative.
Gamble is currently behind bars at the Hamilton County Justice Center. She is scheduled to return to court later in September.
