Cavaliers Hall of Fame announcer Joe Tait has been receiving treatment for pneumonia since his return from Houston, where he was hospitalized last week.

He recently underwent a series of tests on his heart at the Cleveland Clinic and doctors determined that Joe is experiencing "aortic stenosis."

Joe will soon undergo heart procedures to replace a valve and address other heart related concerns and these will be conducted upon his further recovery from pneumonia.

There has been no definite timetable for Tait's return to broadcasts, but he is expected to be out at least until 2011.

Joe is said to be in very good spirits and wanted to thank the fans for their outpouring of support and concern for him during this time and he looks forward to returning to the booth as soon as possible.

Best wishes go out to Joe from the Cavaliers family on a full recovery and return.  Cavaliers pre-game and post-game radio host Mike Snyder will fill in and be joined by Jim Chones, former Cavalier player and television color analyst.
