LINNDALE, Ohio -
The Linndale Police Department arrested Robert Owens of Sheffield Lake Monday on charges of kidnapping, gross sexual imposition and rape.
Sgt. Franczak said the investigation started when a child from a local church made a complaint saying that Owens inappropriately touched her.
He said that within the same day of the victim's complaint, three others came forward with similar complaints.
Police said the victims are all girls ranging in ages from 5 to 9 years old.
Police said that the reported incidents took place in the New Hope Baptist Church.
Police are hoping that if there are any more victims, they will come forward to police.
Owens, 57, lives in Sheffield Lake in Lorain County.
Linndale police received assistance from the Lorain County Sheriff's Office, the Sheffield Lake Police Department and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in apprehending Owens.
Police said he has an extensive criminal history, dating back over 40 years.
He is currently being held in the Cuyahoga County Jail.
