Long-Time PD Reporter Chuck Heaton Dies At 90

CLEVELAND -
Long-time Plain Dealer sports reporter Chuck Heaton died Thursday morning at the age of 90.
Heaton covered just about everything in his 50 years at the PD, including the column "Plain Talk" that ran four days a week in the 1960s and '70s.
He was the Browns beat writer for years as well.
Heaton was the father of five children, including Michael Heaton, a Plain Dealer entertainment columnist, and actress Patricia Heaton, who starred in the sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond."
Heaton was a graduate of Lakewood High School and John Carroll University.
He died of pneumonia.
