AKRON, Ohio - The word “boudoir” is French, meaning a lady's private bedroom.
This style of lingerie photography was once reserved for brides and their future grooms, but now these sexy snap shots have become mainstream.
"I have booked women in their 60s, mothers with three children. Boudoir photography is for everyone," Leah Stafford, of Intimate Boudoir Photography, said. "It’s the girl-next-door, it’s your neighbor and best friend, it's the everyday woman."
The woman booked for a photo shoot the day NewsChannel5 recorded this story was an international studies student at the Ohio State University.
Ms. Green said this was her second boudoir photo shoot.
"The first time I took these pictures, they were a Christmas gift for my fiancé,” she said.
Green said her fiancé had everything and this was the perfect surprise.
"When he opened the album, he just got this look on his face and he gave me the biggest hug," Green said.
The final prints are available on everything from calendars to canvas portraits.
Stafford said these pictures are more than a little black book for his eyes only; they're a confidence builder for women of all ages.
"It's great to give a woman that confidence," Stafford said. "She leaves everyday knowing that she is gorgeous and she has the proof everyday to look at."
Stafford has more than 500 clients from Akron to Portland.
