A Michigan woman was booted off the season opener of ABC's 'The Bachelor' Monday night. Ashley Palenkas is a 28-year-old hairdresser who works at Luigi Bruni in Birmingham and also at Fifth Avenue part-time in Royal Oak.

Ashley's coworkers at Fifth Avenue tell NewsChannel5 sister station WXYZ that she got a tattoo of a Mattel logo because she thinks she looks a bit like a Barbie Doll. In her bio on ABC's website, Ashley says she considers herself a romantic and wears her heart on her sleeve. She also says she is both a city and country girl.

"It's me and my cat now because all of my friends are married and boring," said Ashley describing her life on the season opener.

She also made a very bold first impression to bachelor Sean Lowe -- pulling a tie out of her dress and expressing her love for the novel "50 Shades of Grey."

He was pretty much left speechless. Later in the show, she danced her way into some one-on-one time with the bachelor.

"Ashley P.--that girl is a trip," said Sean in the season opener.

In the end, Ashley's bold personality wasn't what Sean was looking for--she didn't receive a rose at the first ceremony.

Palenkas sat down with WXYZ entertainment reporter Erin Nicole for an exclusive interview. She talked about why she chose to bring up “50 Shades of Grey” when she first met Sean, and how much she had to drink during the 10 hours of filming.

She also dishes about the one contestant she didn’t get along with, and how even though Sean referred to her as “50 shades of drunk”, she has no regrets. Watch the video in the player above for the full interview.
