CLEVELAND - The Home and Energy Expo, hosted in Cleveland's Ward 9, will give homeowners information and guidance on a wide variety of subjects.
Residents will be able to meet face-to-face with members of key Cleveland departments, community agencies, banks and insurance companies.
Homeowners can also obtain advice from contractors and credit counselors on a everything from home improvement to mortgage counseling.
The expo was created by Ward 9 Cleveland Councilman Kevin Conwell, in effort to empower residents, and give them the information they need to improve their neighborhoods.
"We want to inspire residents to action," said Conwell. "The Home and Energy Expo will arm homeowners with the resources they need to make a difference, and improve their quality of life.
The event is also sponsored by the Famicos Foundation, Cuyahoga County Council Member Yvonne Conwell, and NewsChannel5.
The expo will also feature a back to school supplies giveaway for Ward 9 residents only.
The event take place Thurs. Aug. 16, at the Forman Mills parking lot, located at 11905 Superior Ave. The expo will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and will act as preview to NewsChannel5's Building Better Neighborhood's street clean-up event on Friday Aug. 17. The clean-up will bring three dozen volunteers to East 116 Street, where crews will take down old landscaping, remove high weeds, and perform spot painting on more than a half dozen homes.
