CLEVELAND - In an effort to help families stay healthy and save money, Giant Eagle is now offering expectant mothers free prenatal vitamins.
All 215 Giant Eagle Pharmacies now offer Prenatal Plus®, Advanced Natalcare® and Natalcare Pic®; the most often prescribed prenatal vitamins for free with a valid prescription. They are normally prescribed in either a 30-day or 90-day supply.
"Taking prenatal vitamins is one of the easiest and most effective ways to ensure the health of both new mothers and their children," said Giant Eagle senior vice president of health and wellness Brett Merrell in a news release.
The free prenatal vitamins program is just the latest of Giant Eagle Pharmacy's savings opportunities.
According to the company, in the past year, Giant Eagle's free select generic diabetes medications and free select generic antibiotics programs have allowed more than 1.7 million customers and their families to get more than 10 million prescriptions filled for free. That has saved customers more than $40 million.
Other generic prescriptions filled at Giant Eagle start as low as $4 for a 30-day supply, with valid prescriptions. Customers also earn 25 cents bonus fuelperks through March 31 with every five qualifying prescriptions. And if you get a flu shot at a Giant Eagle Pharmacy, you earn 20 cents bonus fuelperks too.
