TORRANCE, Calif. - Toyota is recalling three vehicles as part of two separate safety issues. The recalls involve airbags and wipers that could malfunction.
Approximately 752,000 Corolla and Corolla Matrix vehicles are being recalled because the airbag control module may short circuit. In some instances, the front airbag and/or seatbelt pretensioners could deploy. This impacts 2003 and 2004 models.
The second recall involves approximately 270,000 Lexus IS vehicles. A nut on the front wipers may not be tight enough. If there is heavy snow, the wipers may not work properly. This impacts 2006 through early 2012 models.
A letter will be sent notifying owners of the recall and repairs.
