Google launches Nexus devices including 2 tablets and a smartphone

NEW YORK - Google rounded out a week full of announcements by tech companies by releasing details on its latest phones. three new Nexus devices will be released in small, medium and large. Only Google never got to publicly unveil its devices to a great deal of fanfare, because the company had to cancel its event in New York due to Hurricane Sandy.

Nexus 4 is Google's smartphone with a quad-core processor, a 4.7-inch display, and wireless charging. You set the phone down on a charging surface, and it restores power without any wires. The 8GB smartphone will sell for $299 and the 16GB for $349. T-Mobile will also sell the 16GB version for $199 with a two year contract.

Nexus 7 is a thin and light tablet that fits in your hand. The 16GB version is $199 and 32GB is $249.

Nexus 10 is created to act like a premium entertainment device. It's made by Samsung. It has a 10.055-inch display with over 4 million pixels. The battery is supposed to last nine hours for video playback and more than 500 hours if it's in standby mode. The tablet has front-facing stereo speakers for movie viewing. It's also a tablet you can share with others. You can add multiple users and switch between them through the lockscreen.

Nexus 10 will retail for $399 for the 16GB version and $499 for the 32GB tablet.

All the devices will run Android 4.2 and go on sale Nov. 13.
