CLEVELAND - Airlines are letting passengers reschedule their flights and they're waiving fees, but it doesn't mean you'll get a free ticket to use whenever you want.

There are restrictions.

Check with your airline to make sure the city you're travelling to is included in their travel waiver program, or check our handy guide below.

Most airlines are letting you reschedule if you're flying through Saturday.

Typically, you can only make one change to your travel schedule and you need to be back in the air within a few days.

Southwest, Continental, and Frontier are giving you almost two weeks to schedule your new trip, but Air Tran is only giving a three-day grace period.

If you change your origin or destination you are responsible for the increased fare on most airlines.

Some of the rules indicate customers could be on the hook for fees if your new trip can't be booked in the same class. So, make the changes as soon as possible.

No matter when you travel, sign up for your airline's alert system. You can get a call or text right to your phone with your flight's status.
