CLEVELAND - Global Cleveland officially opened for business on Tuesday. The business backed non-profit organization was created to help attract and retain a talented, global workforce. The company will also focus on reaching out to Clevelanders who have left the area.
Tuesday's opening comes after months of work that started last fall. Global Cleveland, located in Public Square, hopes to help people from around the country, and world, who want to move to Cleveland.
Most of the people they see want to know three things, explained President Larry Miller.
"How can I find a community that's of interest to me here in northeast Ohio? Can you help me in my job search? And if I want to start a business, are there resources here that can help me?"
The answer to a pair of the questions is yes. Global Cleveland has resources and can aid in the job search.
Visitors have access to computers to do their own research about job prospects or housing. For those that find relocating a little overwhelming, Global Cleveland provides human resource professionals -- or career coaches.
Global Cleveland is sponsored by local area businesses that hope to fill the ever-growing demand for talented employees. Their game plan: Act globally, live locally.
