CLEVELAND - Alcoa is showing off its redesigned 50,000 ton forging press, a huge piece of equipment that represents jobs.

The restart of the 12-story high forging press signifies a $100 million investment in the Cleveland Works plant.

A supplier of large aluminum, titanium, nickel and steel forgings. They're used in aerospace, defense, energy and the industrial market.

Of course the work bring jobs with it.

The press is one of only five in the United States.

Ohio is No. 3 in manufacturing, behind only Texas and California.

"This $100 million investment is a ticket to middle class for workers," said U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown.

During the news conference, Alcoa presented a $50,000 check to Cleveland's STEM school.

Also on display Monday was Lockheed Martin's F35 fifth generation interactive cockpit demonstrator.
