DETROIT - The Jeep Grand Cherokee has a new look for 2014, but what’s under the hood is just as important as a redesigned exterior.

When it was revealed Monday morning at Cobo Center for the 2013 North American International Auto Show, representatives announced that the new SUV would get as much as 30 mpg with its 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine.

Jeeps claims the new SUV has a range of more than 730 miles on a single tank of gas.

“With the new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we have taken the industry’s most highly acclaimed SUV and elevated it to an even higher level,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO — Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “Jeep has proudly separated Grand Cherokee even further from its competitors by enhancing its unique elegance, efficiency, capability and technological features,” he said.
