SAN FRANCISCO - Stressed out travelers can now seek inner calm in the Yoga Room at San Francisco International Airport.
The quiet, dimly lit studio officially opened last week in a former storage room just past the security checkpoint at SFO's Terminal 2.
The 150-square-foot room with mirrored walls contains a few chairs and yoga mats but no instructors or televisions. No shoes, food, drinks or cell phones are allowed. A prominent blue-and-white sign with a Buddha-like pictogram beckons visitors: "Come check out our Yoga Room."
Airport managers spent $15,000 to $20,000 to turn the storage space into a yoga studio.
San Francisco International Airport also offers travelers a non-denominational "Reflection Room" and a Christian Science Reading Room.
