NEW ORLEANS - San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick says his faith is a key to his success.
As he prepares for Sunday's Super Bowl against the Baltimore Ravens, Kaepernick says he thanks God for the chance to play and depends on Jesus Christ to keep him grounded and "level-headed."
Kaepernick even has Psalm 18:39 tattooed on his right shoulder. It says, "You arm me with strength for battle. You make my adversaries bow at my feet." It's one of the San Francisco quarterback's many Bible verse tattoos.
His teammate, 49ers tight end Vernon Davis, says Christianity keeps him "focused on and off the field," helping him avoid life's pitfalls and be a team leader.
