MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Former "American Idol" contestant Colton Dixon says he shared his Christian faith with others on the show when he could do so without being "pushy."
The 21-year-old singer, who placed seventh this past season, says he "didn't want to force anything down people's throats," but did take opportunities to talk about who he was and who he "stood for."
Dixon says he never tried to hide his faith, and had more chances to share it as the show went on.
Dixon says his new single "You Are" is about his relationship with God, although it doesn't mention Jesus explicitly.
His debut album will be released in February.
