CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - A Church of God congregation in Chattanooga, Tenn., is erecting enormous crosses on its property along Interstate 75.
A 125-foot-tall cross, flanked by two 100-foot-tall crosses will tower over The Crossing Church.
The Rev. Terry Harris told the Chattooga Times Free Press that the project cost $700,000 and required approval of the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration, along with local permitting.
Harris said the crosses are meant to remind the 75,000 motorists who pass the church daily of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
