Silver Spoon award winner: Best Asian food

CLEVELAND - Cleveland Magazine asks its readers to pick their favorite restaurants based on different categories of food.  The winner for Best Asian food is Ty Fun , on the corner of Professor and Jefferson in Tremont.

Bay Village resident, Chas Kennedy, was bragging to his mother about the restaurant as they recently were there for lunch.

"Their food's amazing and then you add the awesome atmosphere like this and then also the service here is excellent," he said.  "I've never had to wait a long time and everyone's been very courteous and polite."

Meanwhile, while she ate, his mother was marvelling at the freshness of the food.

"The thing I love about this restaurant is everything is so fresh," she said.  "They don't bring things out of the kitchen unless they bought it that day.  I like the idea that I know I'm getting fresh vegetables, meats and fish."

Ty Fun co-manager, Josh Dubbert, says that he goes shopping for food just about every day.  He also said that they try to cater to all eaters.

"We're very vegetarian/vegan friendly," he said. "So, if you're vegetarian or vegan, we can make anything to that way."

The restaurant, located on the corner of Professor and Jefferson in Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood, has both an elegant dining room and an outdoor patio.  It's open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 to 2:30.  Dinner hours start at 5 p.m. and run until 9 p.m. on Sunday, 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

One bit of advice: call far in advance if you're looking for a weekend dinner!
