CLEVELAND - Instead of buying apple dip, try this one that brings together the tried and true flavor combination of peanut butter and apple! As it is a fondue, it's a lot of fun to eat.
Recipe for Peanut Butter Fondue
Difficulty: Easy
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Serves: 4
6 Tablespoons water
7 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup smooth peanut butter
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 apples cut into segments or bite-sized pieces
1. In a small saucepan, bring water and brown sugar to a boil, stirring frequently.
2. Once the sugar has completely dissolved, add the peanut butter and cinnamon. Stir with a whisk continually until the peanut butter is hot. Be careful to keep stirring while you heat this mixture as the peanut butter can scorch.
3. Pour the mixture into a dessert fondue pan (the kind that is warmed by a votive candle).
4. Skewer an apple segment/piece and dip.
Serve this pie as is, or with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a truly decadent dessert. You can find more recipes likes this on the Live Well network .
