2 12 ounce NY strip steaks
1 cup teriyaki marinade
¼ cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons garlic, minced
¼ cup scallions, chopped
2 tablespoons fresh ground black pepper
Place the steaks in a large ziplock bag. Combine the remaining ingredients in a medium bowl. Stir well. Pour the teriyaki mixture into to bag and marinate the steaks for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours, refrigerated.
Remove the steaks from the refrigerator. Remove the steaks from the marinade.
Discard the marinade and allow the steaks to come up to room temperature, about 30 minutes. Prepare the grill. Grill the steaks for about 7 minutes a side for medium-rare (grill a little longer for more doneness).
Remove from grill and allow the steaks to rest for about 10 minutes.
Yield 2 servings.
