KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A Missouri bride-to-be says one of the reasons she and her fiancé picked Dec. 12, 2012 for their wedding date is because he is incredibly forgetful.
Kristen Fowles hopes tying the knot on 12/12/12 will be an anniversary date even her husband-to-be will always remember.
Dec. 12, 2012 is the last triple number sequence of the century. According to David’s Bridal, more than 7,500 brides will marry Wednesday, compared to just 485 on Dec. 12, 2011.
The memorable date isn’t the only reason Fowles and her groom picked the day. She also said good things happen to the couple on Wednesdays.
According to David’s Bridal, having a wedding on a weekday is a growing trend as couples look for budget-friendly options and flexibility.
Iconic dates are also a trend in the U.S. More than 65,000 couples tied the knot on July 7, 2007 (7/7/07), according to employees at the bridal store.
