How the All-Stars feel about the unusual dances for fusion week on 'Dancing with the Stars'

CLEVELAND - It’s week seven on the All-Star season of “Dancing with the Stars” and the show has come up with a new approach to try and keep our attention with the same old dances.

It’s Fusion Week, in which the stars must perform a dance that blends two different dance styles together.

Actor Gilles Marini and Peta are mixing the Argentine tango and the samba. Gilles tweeted, “Frustration will not get the better of me today. Let's keep fighting! I must get this dance right. # Fusion week on # DWTS .”

Olympian Shawn Johnson and Mark (who’s replacing an injured Derek) are working on a tango and paso doble. Shawn tweeted, “2 days before show day and we haven't even started our second dance!! Haha I am starting to get a little nervous! # DWTS .”

Actress Kelly Monaco and Val are piecing together a foxtrot and cha cha. Kelly tweeted, “Gh... check. Car wash... check. Hair cut... check Chiropractor... check. Lunch by myself... Priceless. # Dwts boot camp next!”

Olympian Apolo Anton Ohno and Karina are assembling a cha cha and paso doble. Apolo tweeted, “Marathon dance? Woah. Paso doble? Wowsers. Cha cha again? Zoinks!!! # DWTSAllStars # dwts # teamapolo .”

TV host Melissa Rycroft and Tony will perform a tango and cha cha. Melissa tweeted, “So, think I underestimated the difficulty of this Fusion Dance. Feels a little chaotic in my head right now..But ready to master this dance!”

NFL retiree Emmitt Smith and Cheryl are working on a rumba and samba. Emmitt tweeted, “Got back from LA last night!!! This morning at the chiropractor office.”

Actress Kirstie Alley and Maks are rehearsing a quickstep and samba. Kirstie tweeted, “I LOVE doing DWTS. It lets the baby boomers know we can push on. And it let's young people know they can achieve anything!.. win win..xxo.”

After the fusion dances, the stars will all take part in a swing marathon, which sounds like a particularly exhausting idea.

Due to the November 6 presidential election, there will not be an elimination on Tuesday. Singer Sabrina Bryan was the last star eliminated.

Fusion Week begins Monday night at 8:00 on ABC.
