The CBS reboot of Eddie Murphy's "Beverly Hills Cop" franchise now has a face attached to the project.
Deadline reports that comedian/actor Brandon T. Jackson ("Tropic Thunder," "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief") has landed the role of Aaron, the son of Murphy's "Beverly Hills" character, Detroit detective Axel Foley.
Aaron is at the heart of the show, which follows his adventures as working-class police officer protecting and serving in Beverly Hills while also trying to shape his identity apart from his dad.
Murphy is expected to return to Axel's shoes in the pilot, which has a production commitment at CBS. He might also appear in more episodes should the reboot make it to series.
Murphy, who starred as Foley in the three "Beverly Hills Cop" films, is executive producing alongside 'The Shield" creator Shawn Ryan, who's also writing the script and serving as showrunner.
