CLEVELAND - Information is emerging about the types of scenes that will be filmed in Cleveland for the next Marvel film that’s gearing up for production this spring.

According to the website ComicBookMovie.com , “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will begin principal photography on April 1, despite other reports that filming was pushed back to June. The site said the crews in Cleveland will film “epic chase scene on the famous Cleveland [Memorial] Shoreway” and “scenes in [one of] Cleveland’s largest bank vaults.”

The Greater Cleveland Film Commission announced in September that the sequel to the hit movie “The Avengers” would be filmed partly in Cleveland.

NewsChannel5 has an email out to the commission to see if the filming locations can be verified.

During the filming of “The Avengers” in Cleveland in 2011, crews shut down a block of East 9th Street to traffic downtown for about a month while an explosive battle scene was shot. The old subway tunnel under the Detroit-Superior Bridge (also known at the Veterans Memorial Bridge) was also featured in the film.
