CLEVELAND - The trailer for the new Victoria Justice comedy “Fun Size,” which was shot in the greater Cleveland area, is online to watch.
“Fun Size” was filmed in Cleveland, Beachwood, Cleveland Heights and Lakewood last summer. And parts of those cities can be spotted in the trailer.
The opening shows the movie's stars at high school. Except the school used was not a real high school. It’s actually Shore Cultural Center in Euclid. Boulevard Elementary School on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights was also used for school scenes.
The story takes place at Halloween and a Beachwood street served as the backdrop for the trick or treating scenes early on in the trailer.
A couple scenes take place at the Coventry Food Mart in Cleveland Heights, which can be spotted at 1:09 in the trailer.
At 2:10, the teens stop by a fast-food restaurant called Captain Chicken. There is no such place. Instead, a vacant Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant was used for these scenes. It’s located at E. 81st Street and Euclid Avenue in Cleveland.
The vacant Rally’s Restaurant next door was painted purple and converted into a yogurt stand.
“Fun Size” features Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice as Wren, a teenager who plans to go to a Halloween party, only to lose her younger brother in the city.
Justice and her friend, played by Jane Levy, the star of the ABC show “Suburgatory,” begin an adventure to look for him while trying to salvage their social lives.
“Fun Size” co-stars comedienne Chelsea Handler as Justice’s mother, Johnny Knoxville, Thomas McDonell and Josh Pence.
The film opens nationwide on Oct. 26.
