will.i.am used his own cash to make his latest music video SCREAM & SHOUT as record label bosses were "hesitant" about funding the shoot.

The Black Eyed Peas rapper refused to wait for executives to pay for him to make a promo with Britney Spears, so he invested his own money into the project to satisfy fans impatient for his next release.

He tells Britain's Evening Standard newspaper, "I paid for the video myself. The U.K. was like, 'We want something now, hurry up, it's hot.' It used to be America, but right now the U.K. leads the world... The American (record) company was hesitant because (my last single) This is Love didn't really work in America.

"I don't do OPM (other people's money). It takes too long. These ideas that I've had, if I'm thinking them then somebody else is about to do it. Right now you have got to go fast on things."
