Taylor Kinney's TV show gets a boost from girlfriend Lady Gaga's promotion

Actor TAYLOR KINNEY's new TV series CHICAGO FIRE has been given a big boost thanks to his girlfriend LADY GAGA who raved about the drama on Twitter.com.

The pop superstar, who celebrated her one-year anniversary with Kinney in August (12), urged her 30 million followers to watch her boyfriend's show in a post on her social networking site, tweeting, "My bf Taylor is on TV TONIGHT!!! for the premiere of CHICAGO FIRE on NBC at 10/9c in America. Monsters, wanna watch it with me+chat online?"

A handful of excited fans responded with their reactions to the premiere, and the bashful actor admits he was shocked Gaga went out on a limb to help support his latest project.

During an appearance on U.S. breakfast show Today on Wednesday (24Oct12), he said, "I was surprised (she wrote about it). I think it's great. I think it's a girlfriend being proud of her boyfriend... She's been to set a couple of times."

Gaga is now in the middle of a world tour, while Kinney is currently shooting the program in Chicago, Illinois, but the 31 year insists they've found a way to make a long-distance romance work, joking, "She hasn't said anything, but she has a spaceship and she can get to (point) A and B pretty quickly."

And Kinney, who has remained tight-lipped about their romance, reveals the relationship is going strong: "For whatever reason it works. I'm a happy guy. I'm a lucky guy."

The couple met last summer on the set of her music video You and I.
