KATY PERRY, ALICIA KEYS and JOHN LEGEND were among the acts who saluted CAROLE KING's legacy by performing her greatest hits at a star-studded tribute concert on Tuesday (04Dec12).
Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito and Quincy Jones shared hosting duties throughout the Celebration of Carole King & Her Music show at The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The venue chosen for the concert is located across the street from where the songwriting legend landed a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday (03Dec12).
Celebrity fan Perry covered King's ballad So Far Away and Legend sang You've Got a Friend, while Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Darlene Love and Jesse McCartney also joined the line-up.
Keys' duet with King on (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman received a rapturous response from the audience and earned the duo a standing ovation.
In a post on Twitter.com, King writes, "Grateful for tonight's honour, the great talent joining me, & the chance to help Painted Turtle CA provide such a special place."
Proceeds from the event will be donated to Paul Newman's The Painted Turtle Camp, for kids with serious illnesses and their families.
