ROBIN WILLIAMS is in talks to make his small screen comeback with the lead role in a new TV comedy.

The beloved funnyman shot to fame in classic series Mork & Mindy, which ran in the U.S. from 1978 until 1982 and earned the star a Golden Globe award.

Williams has since made several cameo appearances in TV shows, but is close to taking on a longtime leading role in The Crazy Ones, which he is working on with writer David E. Kelley.

In the show, the comic would play a father working alongside his daughter, according to E! News.
