Neil Diamond lands Walk of Fame honor

Veteran crooner NEIL DIAMOND was joined by his new wife as he unveiled his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday (10Aug12).
The Sweet Caroline hitmaker received the 2,475th plaque in celebration of the 40th anniversary of his groundbreaking Hot August Night live album.
Diamond was joined by wife Katie McNeil, who he married in April (12), as he posed by the star in front of the Capitol Records Building in Los Angeles.
He told reporters, "This is probably the most fun. I didn't have to campaign for it. They wanted me. They opened their arms and took me in, and that makes it all the better."
Diamond joked about the honor on his Twitter.com page after the ceremony, linking to a photo from the event and writing, "Superstar-shmooperstar. Katie still makes me take out the garbage. Haha!"
