MEGAN FOX has joined Twitter.com, just hours after false rumors of her death spread on the social networking site.

The Transformers beauty became the latest celebrity to be killed off in a sick online hoax on Thursday (03Jan13) when "RIP Megan Fox" became a trending topic on Twitter.

But hours later, Fox proved she's still alive and kicking - by signing up for a Twitter account and sending out her very first tweet.

The inaugural message read: "I'm incredibly late to the party but I'm here nonetheless, so what now?"

The new mom added in a post on her Facebook.com page, "Against my better judgment, I have finally joined Twitter. Every possible version of my name is already in use so for now my Twitter handle is MeganFox516. See you there."

The numbers refer to Fox's birthday, which is 16 May.
