ONE DIRECTION star LIAM PAYNE was left shaken on Saturday (08Dec12) after hundreds of excited girls rushed the band as they landed at London's Heathrow Airport following a promotional trip to the U.S.
The What Makes You Beautiful hitmakers sparked a fan frenzy upon their arrival from New York and minders had to whisk the five-piece through the terminal to their waiting cars to avoid causing more havoc in the building.
One crazed devotee still managed to grab hold of Payne's arm during the rush and refused to let go, leaving the singer with a minor injury.
Documenting the incident on his Twitter.com page, he wrote, "The awkward moment when a girl gives you a Chinese burn in the airport. My scratch is that bad I think I might just have to cut my arm off."
Payne uploaded a photo of the red scratch, adding, "Lol (laugh out loud) I just looked at (my) arm that's what happened when somebody pulls at your skin too hard (sic). crazyday".
The singer also expressed his distress at disgruntled fans who turned on the bandmates after they failed to stop to sign autographs or pose for pictures - insisting the stars had no control over the situation because the crowd had become too unruly.
He tweeted, "I don't know why people are blaming us for this (airport crush). It's so sad when everyone's rushing and make it unsafe we get thrown back in our cars. That was actually horrible I literally wanted to cry and all those people shouting s**t at us and we even tried to stop so s**t."
