KELLY CLARKSON was left dazed and confused when she was woken up on Thursday (06Dec12) with the news of her Grammy Award nominations - and her stunned reaction was caught on camera.

The singer missed the Grammy Nominations Concert Live event in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday night (05Dec12) as she was in London, but it wasn't long until she discovered she had picked up four nods for February's (13) prizegiving.

A pal made sure she didn't miss out on the celebration - taking champagne to her hotel room as she delivered the news.

Filming the wake-up call, the unidentified friend knocked on Clarkson's hotel room door and said, "It's 4.50 in the morning... Kelly's nominated for four Grammys!"

A bleary-eyed Clarkson opened the door and was told the news, prompting her to exclaim, "What? Are you for real? Oh my god, it's so awesome."

The 2002 American Idol winner posted the clip on her Twitter.com page, and added, "My friends surprised me this morning with awesome news! I have the best friends. 10 years later and still so excited!"
