Pop star KE$HA can understand why radio bosses removed her latest single DIE YOUNG from U.S. playlists following the Connecticut school massacre on Friday (14Dec12), because the track is now "inappropriate".

The song was one of America's most played tunes on the airwaves in recent weeks, but following the shootings at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, the record suffered a huge drop after it was allegedly cut by several radio chiefs.

Ke$ha has now spoken out about her work being taken off air, insisting she fully understands the reasoning behind the move.

In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "I'm so so so sorry for anyone who has been effected (sic) by this tragedy. and I understand why my song is now inappropriate. Words cannot express."

Six staffmembers and 20 young children were gunned down at the school by 20-year-old Adam Lanza, who also allegedly killed his own mother before turning the weapon on himself.
