JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT saved ANNE HATHAWAY from an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction at the Broadcast Film Critics Association's 18th annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards on Thursday (10Jan13) after her dress fell apart.

The actress wowed onlookers on the red carpet with her embellished Oscar de la Renta gown - but the spaghetti straps didn't last the evening.

Her The Dark Knight Rises co-star Gordon-Levitt took to his Facebook.com page and revealed he helped fix the strap on Hathaway's dress with a sparkly red pin, and uploaded a picture of the two together.

In an accompanying post, he added, "Annie tore the strap on her dress, but luckily I had a pin."

Hathaway won the Best Supporting Actress trophy at the Critics' Choice Awards for her turn as prostitute Fantine in Les Miserables, while Joseph Gordon-Levitt's thriller Looper was named Best Sci-fi/Horror Movie.
